This observation became the starting point for a study which proved that 12-week supplementation with chromium picolinate at a dose of 400 μg per day resulted in decreases in the atherogenic plasma index, TG levels, insulin resistance, IL-6, TNF-α, C-reactive protein (CRP) and fetuin-A in patients with NAFLD. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
