After adjusting for age, gender, and family history of ITP, the ITP risk was found to be higher in the AIRE rs2075876 AA genotype (adjusted odds ratio (aOR): 4.299, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.650–11.202, p = 0.008) and A allele carriers (aOR: 1.847, 95% CI: 1.209–2.822, p = 0.004) than in the GG genotype and G allele carriers. This evidence concerns the gene AIRE and autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura.
