MYB and leukemia: One of the best described and conserved targets of miR-150 is myb (also known as c-myb), a proto-oncogene encoding a transcription factor with an evolutionarily conserved role in vertebrate hematopoiesis controlling the proliferation, differentiation, and survival of hematopoietic progenitors [50,51], as well as being involved in leukemia and certain solid tumors [48,49].
