These neuroprotective actions appear to translate to rodent preclinical animal models of neurogenerative disorders; GLP-1R agonists have demonstrated efficacy in rodent models of PD, Alzheimer’s disease, ischemic stroke, traumatic brain injury, peripheral neuropathy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Huntington’s disease and idiopathic intercranial hypertension [15,16,31,32,33].
