CRH and Abnormality of the adrenal glands: Peripheral (primary) and central (secondary and tertiary) forms of adrenal insufficiency occur because of direct adrenal gland disorders, such as rare genetic conditions or autoimmune diseases and secondary to ACTH deficiency, or by suppression of CRH by exogenous glucocorticoids or other medications, such as opioids, respectively [8,9].
