Since the upregulation of miR-483 has been associated to IGF-2 presence, the molecular analysis of qRT-PCR identified a well-defined IGF2 and miR-483 co-overexpression in pterygium in comparison with normal conjunctiva; in detail, the mean fold-increase expression values for IGF2 and miR-483 were 253.2 and 12.47, respectively. This evidence concerns the gene IGF2 and pterygium.
