However, the positive correlation of HDAC2 levels with reduced patients’ survival, which emerged in our study, harmonizes with findings from similar studies, which have identified HDAC2 as a negative prognostic factor, associated with diminished disease-free survival (DFS) or OS in a wide range of malignancies, including oral squamous cell carcinoma [36], hepatocellular carcinoma [21], cholangiocarcinoma [37], gastric [38] and colorectal adenocarcinoma [39], and endometrioid cancer [40].
