As in the case of people with osteoporosis taking AR drugs, compared to the control group (US: Me = 0.30 μg/mL; SS: Me = 0.35 μg/mL), significantly higher concentrations of lysozyme were found in the resting (Me = 0.72 μg/mL) and stimulated saliva (Me = 0.67 μg/mL) of patients with osteoporosis not taking AR drugs. This evidence concerns the gene LYZ and osteoporosis.
