The RelA subunit of NF-κB is reported to be activated in breast cancer cell lines, whereas breast tumours are shown to exhibit an absence or low level of nuclear RelA, in contrast to activated c-Rel, NF-κB1 and NF-κB2 along with bcl2 expression, as compared to nontumorigenic adjacent tissue [106].
