Analysis by Pearson’s chi-square revealed an association between the predicted risk allele of rs3764821-ALDH3B1 (G: OR = 2.54, 95% CI = 1.55–4.15, p = 0.00022***) and rs3748523-RAD52 (G: OR = 1.65, 95% CI = 1.13–2.41, p = 0.01*) with lung cancer while, no significant association of rs5742926 (PMS1) with lung cancer in smokers was found (Table 3). This evidence concerns the gene PMS1 and lung cancer.
