Given that the change in cytokine profile may be associated with the prevalence of bacterial infection and a poorer prognosis, the present study aimed to quantify the levels of cytokines IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-17A, INF- γ, and TNF in peripheral blood and exfoliated cervical cell (ECCs) of patients positive for C. trachomatis DNA and compare them with patients positive and negative for HPV DNA. Here, IL10 is linked to bacterial infectious disease.
