The pre-operative blood work indicated anaemia (Hb < 117 g/L) in 11%, hypoalbuminemia (< 36 g/L) in 23%, pathologically elevated alkaline phosphatase (ALP > 1.9 ukat/L) in 32%, and pathologically elevated gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT > 1.9 ukat/L) in 15% (Table 2).
