IL6 and sleep apnea syndrome: In spite of the relatively high percentage of comorbidities within the present patient cohorts (15–60%) and previous publications suggesting increased IL-6 levels in i.e. depression, insomnia and sleep apnea, which are frequent comorbidities in epilepsy [[28], [29], [30], [31]], no neurological/psychiatric/neuropsychiatric co-morbidities correlated to the increased interictal IL-6 levels in the TLE and FLE patients.
