Compared to the group of children with a stable SDS-BMI, there was also a significant decrease in the insulin, HOMA-IR values, and expression of biomarkers for inflammation (IL-6, CRP, NLR, and PLR), endothelial dysfunction, (sICAM), leptin, and systolic and diastolic blood pressure, along with a significant increase in HDLc, in the children with obesity whose SDS-BMI had decreased (Table 1). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is endothelial dysfunction.
