At 10-years follow-up, 11 patients (50%) had DM, requiring medical treatment with metformin monotherapy in five (45.4%), insulin in a basal-bolus schedule in one (9.1%), and a combination of metformin and GLP-1 agonists in one (9.1%), or metformin and insulin in three (27.2%) or triple therapy insulin, metformin and DPP-IV inhibitors in one (9.1%). This evidence concerns the gene INS and diabetes mellitus.
