According to Sun et al. fetal echocardiography is recommended to be performed in the following maternal conditions: gestational diabetes or pregestational diabetes, lupus or Sjogren’s syndrome with positive serology (anti-SSA/anti-SSB antibodies), obtaining pregnancy through assisted reproduction techniques, viral infection with the rubeola virus, Coxsackie or Parvovirus, uncontrolled phenylketonuria, as well as in the case of a first-degree relative with congenital heart disease. Here, SSB is linked to Sjogren syndrome.
