EMMY was a prospective, multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial designed to evaluate the effect of empagliflozin 10 mg once daily (PO) initiated within 72 h after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in addition to guideline-recommended post-MI therapy27 for 26 weeks on cardiac function and heart failure biomarkers (NT-proBNP) in patients with large acute MI, with or without diabetes, in comparison to a placebo, in 11 Austrian sites.
