F8 and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension: Fibrinogen levels were increased, and positively correlated with the FVIII levels, which indicates similar acute phase responses for these 2 factors and emphasizes the postoperative thrombotic state of patients with CTEPH.23 Elevation of postoperative fibrinogen levels are also reported in other major cardiac and noncardiac surgeries.13,24 In contrast, an early AT decline was observed which likely reflects early intraoperative thrombin generation and consumption of AT.
