We found that the schizophrenia-risk alleles decreased the volumes of some cortices, including frontal [frontal pole (SA) and paracentral], temporal (superior and transverse temporal), parietal (precuneus), occipital (pericalcarine), and insular cortices, which was consistent with the previous findings that the volumes of these cortices in schizophrenia were reduced, suggesting that KTN1 variants might play a dominant role in regulating the volumes in these areas. This evidence concerns the gene KTN1 and schizophrenia.
