In a recent preclinical study with human adipose tissue, ADMSC was believed to show more promise over BMMSC in promoting neovascularization in limb ischemia, higher resistance to hypoxia-induced apoptosis, and oxidative stress-induced senescence, more potent pro-angiogenic activity, and higher expression of octamer-binding transcription factor 4 (Oct4) and VEGF [25]. The gene discussed is POU5F1; the disease is limb ischemia.
