CM-Pcsk9−/− mice at 28 weeks also had higher levels of cardiac interstitial fibrosis (Figure 2E), left ventricular (LV) dilatation (see Supplementary material online, Table S2), cardiomyocyte death (Figure 2F), and distorted, misaligned sarcomeres and myocardial filaments (Figure 2G), consistent with dilated cardiomyopathy. This evidence concerns the gene PCSK9 and Interstitial cardiac fibrosis.
