These conflicting findings are not surprising, because one miRNA can bind up to hundreds of target mRNAs due to the short base pairs within the miRNA‐3′ UTR duplex,40 resulting in different or even contrary roles mediated by different targets in a specific disease, as seen with other miRNAs such as miR‐132 in tau phosphorylation9, 41 and miR‐200 in tumor metastasis.42, 43.
