We observed that many of these genes, including LSC markers (CD96, CD34, CD47, CD82, CD44, CD99 and CD133) and AML-related genes (KIT, FLT3, RUNX1, IKZF2, HGF, SSBP2, FCHSD2, ADGRE2, ERG, MSI2, ZBTB20, ITPR2, ELMO1, MDM4, ZEB2, KDM5B, and CDK6), were associated with AML and were more highly expressed in cluster 12 than in the other clusters (Fig. 4B). The gene discussed is CD99; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
