In other words, pathologists cannot simply state that a specimen contains a melanoma, inflammation, or other entity, but must declare what type of melanoma or inflammation it is, what growth pattern it has or what mutations or protein expression patterns have been found (e.g., BRAF mutation in eyelid melanoma, BAP1 mutation or BAP-1 protein expression in uveal melanoma and IgG4-positivity in inflammation etc.). Here, BRAF is linked to uveal melanoma.
