In the streptomycin-induced diabetes mouse (El-Beshbishy et al. 2006), the extracts significantly reduced glucose levels in the blood and increased antioxidant enzyme activity (SOD, CAT, GSHPX), but not only glycosylated serum proteins, but also antioxidative enzyme activity (SOD, CAT, GSHPX). Here, SOD1 is linked to diabetes mellitus.
