MMP9 and polycystic ovary syndrome: The indicators of gingival inflammation (GI, PI, and BOP) were higher in women with PCOS compared to women with PCOS with healthy gingiva, women in the control group. Although salivary MMP-9 was significantly higher for women with PCOS regardless of the gingival status compared to women in the other two groups, the levels were within the normal reference ranges, which will ameliorate the effect of such finding on the possible linkage to PCOS pathogenesis.
