We also analyzed whether angiopoietin-1 and angiopoietin-2 levels can discriminate patients with septic shock from severe sepsis patients, the results showed that angiopoietin-2 levels could discriminate patients with septic shock from severe sepsis patients (AUC = 0.778) with a cutoff value of 767.3 pg/ml (sensitivity of 78.9% and specificity of 75.6%), while angiopoietin-1 levels and Ang-1/Ang-2 ratios had lower AUC values (AUC = 0.62 and 0.71, respectively) (Figure 4). Here, ANGPT2 is linked to Sepsis.
