Comparative analysis of changes in the ratio of VEGF/IL-6 during neoadjuvant treatment of patients with IBC and IIIB stage BC without edema showed that after treatment, the ratio was higher in most patients with IBC (1.4 vs. 0.7 in BC), indicating aggressiveness of the tumor process and confirmed by an objective response to treatment (regression <30%). This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and breast cancer.
