The only available anti-malarial agents against latent malaria, the 8-aminoquinolines (primaquine and tafenoquine) cause potentially serious haemolytic anaemia in glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase deficient (G6PDd) patients, and hence, very often imposes a critical barrier to safe access [4, 5]. Here, G6PD is linked to non-autoimmune hemolytic anemia.
