Administration of an adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector encoding DOK7, has been shown to increase muscle strength and extended survival in models of DOK7 CMS, autosomal dominant Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis due to mutations in SOD1 [42, 43]. Here, SOD1 is linked to autosomal dominant Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy.
