MiR-223-2p was over-expressed in the hyperglycemia-induced cardiomyocyte injury cellular model; in addition, inhibiting miR-223-3p expression led to further activation of myocardial fibrosis and specific apoptotic pathways, including the attenuation of NLRP3 inflammasome in diabetic cardiomyopathy [59]. This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and diabetic cardiomyopathy.
