They showed increased expression of differentially expressed forebrain tumor genes found in both HGG-G34 tumors42 and markers that define a core set of glioma propagation transcription factors, such as Pou3f2, Sall2, Sox2, and Olig243, and an upregulation of nestin and the platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) pathway commonly seen in HGG-RTKs20,44 (Supplementary Fig. 5e). The gene discussed is SOX2; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
