ATM variants were detected in as many as 12% of uterine carcinomas, 8% of gallbladder carcinomas, 7.8% of small bowel carcinomas, and 5% of lung adenocarcinomas, whereas BRCA1 and CHEK2 variants were found in less than 3% of uterine carcinomas, less than 2% of lung adenocarcinomas, less than 1% of gallbladder carcinomas, and none were found in small bowel carcinomas (Figure 3). The gene discussed is ATM; the disease is lung adenocarcinoma.
