CD4 and tuberculosis: Causes of treatment interruption and LTF in countries in sub-Saharan Africa include poor nutritional status, transport costs, waiting time at health facilities, family pressure, stigma, time needed to access treatment, the cost of remaining on treatment, the relative health of the patient, lower CD4 count, tuberculosis (TB) co-infection, adverse drug reactions, younger age, poor access to services, relocation to a different area and gaps in service delivery such as poor follow-up of patients.
