In support of this idea, it is also our observation that high expression of the steroidogenic enzymes CYP11A1 and HSD11B1 correlated with high expression of the immunosuppressive cytokines TGFβ and IL‐10, the immune checkpoint molecules PD‐1, PD‐L1 and CTLA‐4 and the presence of LAYN+ and CCR4+ tumour‐associated M2‐like macrophages (Fig. 8B).
