CYP11B1 and neoplasm: While these experiments do not reveal the relative importance of LRH‐1 in regulating tumour growth via the transcriptional control of cell cycle‐regulating genes versus the suppression of anti‐tumour immune responses via tumour‐derived glucocorticoids, the transplantation of Cyp11b1‐deficient tumoroids, which maintain‐LRH‐1‐regulated proliferation, clearly support the idea that the local synthesis of glucocorticoids critically contributes to the evasion of colorectal tumours from tumour immune surveillance, and thus promotes their survival and growth.
