On the other hand, considering the inflammation-based scoring system, in patients without risk, it was observed that the genus Corynebacterium was present in greater abundance in gingivitis patients; this is related to the findings of a different cohort, which determined a negative association of Corynebacterium matruchotti with the diagnosis of aggressive periodontitis, as well as an inverse relationship with analyzed markers of inflammation, such as IL-6, IL-1Ra and leukocyte count (Plachokova et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and periodontitis.
