The RAF/MEK/ERK pathway has attracted much attention in the search for novel chemotherapeutic agents since mutations in BRAF are found in approximately 60% of melanoma [2, 3], 35–50% of papillary thyroid cancers [4, 5], 35% of low-grade ovarian serous tumors [6, 7], 5–10% of colorectal cancers (CRC) [8–10], and 5% of non-small cell lung cancers [11].
