Apoptosis‐related caspases (such as caspase‐3/8) were thought to be unable to stimulate gasdermin to induce pyroptosis until it was shown that TNF‐α, chemotherapy drugs9 and granzyme B (GZMB)38 could induce caspase‐3‐mediated GSDME cleavage in high GSDME expression and form N‐GSDME termini and “gasdermin channels”, which caused pyroptosis in tumor cells. This evidence concerns the gene GSDME and neoplasm.
