CSF1R and neoplasm: Its main effect is the suppression of angiogenesis and remodeling of the tumor microenvironment (TME), favoring antitumor immunity via blockade of vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFRs) (accelerates maturation of dendritic cells, improves cytotoxic T lymphocyte trafficking and cytotoxic function) and colony stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF-1R) (reduced TAM recruitment and differentiation toward the M1 phenotype), among other positive immune effects (4).
