In contrast, the level of IL-17F, an inflammatory cytokine, was significantly increased at 7 dpi (151.1 ± 19.3 pg/mL, p = 0.0003) and 21 dpi (89.7 ± 20.6, p = 0.0187) compared to the pre-infection (33.7 ± 11.2 pg/mL) time point (Figure 2D and Figure 3).
