LGALS3 and hypertensive disorder: In the study by He et al., higher Gal-3 level was found to be independently associated with an unfavorable outcome (mRS > 2) on day 90 after ischaemic stroke during large artery atherosclerotic (LAA) stroke, after adjusting for clinical variables including age, sex, body mass index, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, smoking, drinking, homocysteine, creatinine, and hs-CPR [31].
