Mutations in CRLF1 or CLCF1 have been linked to cold-induced sweating syndrome, however mutations in CNTF do not induce similar effects (Murakami et al., 2019), although both have been demonstrated to induce expression and phosphorylation of Stat3 (Kassen et al., 2009; Nahlé et al., 2019; Rezende et al., 2009; Savin et al., 2015 which has been shown to be essential in Müller glia for retinal regeneration (Nelson et al., 2012). Here, CLCF1 is linked to cold-induced sweating syndrome.
