IFNG and neoplasm: Thorsson et al. (2018) divided all TCGA tumor samples into six immune subtypes, which included wound healing (Immune C1), IFN-gamma dominant (Immune C2), inflammatory (Immune C3), lymphocyte-depleted (Immune C4), immunologically quiet (Immune C5) and TGF-beta-dominant (Immune C6), and showed patients who belonged to types C1, C2 and C3 could benefit from neoadjuvant immunotherapy following surgery.
