MMP9 and neoplasm: Bao Xiaowei et al. (27) found that seabuckthorn polysaccharides can regulate the growth, apoptosis, metastasis and invasion of Hep-G2 cells to a certain extent, reduce the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 proteins by down-regulating the activity of p38 MAPK pathway, and then inhibit the migration and invasion ability of Hep-G2 cells, suggesting certain anti-tumor effects.
