Increasing evidence suggests a crucial role for HDAC3 in rheumatic diseases, as HDAC3 is required for type I interferon production and activation of signal transducers and activators of transcription 1 (STAT1) in fibroblast-like synoviocytes obtained from RA patients (43), and for LPS-induced activation of macrophages (44). This evidence concerns the gene STAT1 and rheumatic disorder.
