The ezetimibe targeted phospholipase A2 group VII (PLA2G7) has also been found to have tight correlation with cancer cachexia (Morigny et al., 2021) and put forward as therapeutic target for prostate cancer (Vainio et al., 2011), supporting the possibility of ezetimibe used in clinical therapy in advanced cancer stages. The gene discussed is PLA2G7; the disease is prostate cancer.
