ACE and congestive heart failure: Overall, although the effects of ACEi, such as benazepril, on ACE activity have been fairly well characterized, and the benefit of ACE inhibition in CHF has been definitively established in several clinical trials in both humans and dogs (0.25 to 1.0 mg/kg q12h-q24h), little is known about the effect of benazepril on the alternative RAAS pathway in either species.
