High levels of ROS, induced intrinsic cell death, and increased levels of MDA, C-reactive protein (CRP), IL-6, IL-1, TNF-α, and other adhesive molecules were observed in the sera and kidneys of patients and animal models with CKD, and they were positively correlated with the severity of the renal damage and disease [1,51,52,53,54,55,56,57,58]. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is chronic kidney disease.
