GD is an autoimmune disease in which antibodies related to the TSH receptor (antiTSH-R) are activated, binding to TSH-R on the follicular cells of the thyroid [11] (Figure 1) and continuously and uncontrollably stimulate the follicular cells of the thyroid, which consequently produce an excessive amount of thyroid hormones, T3 and T4. Here, TSHR is linked to autoimmune disease.
