In addition, also our bioinformatic analysis (see Supplementary Figures S2 and S3, [38,39,40,41,42]) suggests that this molecule can play a key role in the development of asbestos-related tumors as well (i.e., head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma, lung squamous cell carcinoma) and that the overexpression of TMEM16A channels could represent a good prognostic factor. This evidence concerns the gene ANO1 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
